I'm a light puller. I recall a great satisfaction in junior-high grabbing my lashes and tearing across hoping to find some freed in my fingers. I marveled at the dark, thorn-like things that came out of me! The jelly from which grew would stick to the ends so pitifully. Revolting in a way, but it is like scratching an itch.
ReplyDeleteThere was really no regret back then. I was satisfied by the four that came out on the first try, the two or three on the next and the ones that came out after a fews more tries. I didn't do that at home, just in class. I also remember needing a distraction from sexual thoughts.
I would think "These things have no business being in there anyway" and fantasize that given repeated ripping, one day it would be possible to strip all of them at once! I had acquired a belief that when the hair grew back it would never be anchored as strongly. That was a form of progress in my mind.
I guess I wanted to mention my first feelings about it. I've been mostly lucky enough to not feel that I needed to deal with it or conceal it.

Thank you Skully for sharing. I didn't experience the marvelling at the lashes themselves, but I did experience such a pleasure after pulling. Observing the jelly was always fun though.

Similarly to Skully, i've always been fascinated by the jelly and the root of the hair i've pulled out. Because i've been pulling for so long, when the hair finally grows back i will pull it out and study both stiff ends of the hair and how bendable it is, and the white colored tip.
ReplyDeleteDo you feel the same about scalp hair? I feel, somewhat, that lashes are more pleasurable to pull because of their thickness.
ReplyDeleteScalp hair (even if recently regrowing) is not as thick and not as enjoyable to observe, at least in my case.
I pull from both my lashes and my scalp. My lashes grow back faster, which is why they are abused more. I prefer pulling from my lashes than my scalp though. Lashes are easier to conceal and don't take as long to grow back.
